Brief Bio 

Donna Bruni grew up on the east coast, spending summers at Cape Cod, Massachusetts and the Jersey shore with her family. She studied graphic design at Endicott College (Beverly, MA) and the School of Visual Arts (New York, NY) with Milton Glaser. She began a career in visual arts working in a NYC corporate art department in the pre-digital age of advertising and publishing. She was a freelance artist for Workman Publishing and Warner Communications in New York and co-founder/Art Director of Response Communications Group in Red Bank, New Jersey.

After relocating to the Midwest Donna pursued painting full-time, working with Minneapolis visual artist/mentor, Jantje Visscher for two years. Her installation piece from this period titled, Threshold (above), was exhibited at University of Minnesota's Katharine Nash Gallery in Minneapolis (1995). She received her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, where she designed her degree program in Visual Art & Healing. In 2010, she launched the Heartland Project to promote integration of the arts in community wellness programs. She curated Heartland / images from the center, a temporary gallery installation at Mill City Clinic in Minneapolis, inviting public participation to create healing spaces through visual art. Her work is widely exhibited and purchased for public and private collections throughout the United States.
