Season's Greetings... Ttis the season of abundance and gratitude—

THANK YOU for sharing your creative spirit with me this year.

Have you ever noticed that gratitude and abundance flow freely when creative energy is high?

While our world is in chaos, I continue to work with polarity and balance in my studio painting practice. As in traditional Chinese medicine, good health is directly related to the balance between yin and yang qualities. What we see as opposing forces are, in reality, complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world. Understanding the unity of opposites is essential to the artist's process. Studying composition, we look at dark/light, movement/stillness, fire/water, emptiness/fullness, day/night, warm/cool as parts of the whole. Tension and balance, although opposing forces, are essential components of a work of art. And don't forget, your life is a work of art! Wishing you peace and light during this holiday season and many creative adventures in 2019! Let me know if you'd like to visit Studio 106 to see, share, select and connect with art at any time.

I'd like to share a link to a new blog post, Overlapping Planes, by Dallas Jeffs, featuring my art. Many thanks to everyone at Artist Run Website for reviewing my work and providing great resources for artists. Making connections with people, sharing stories and diverse perspectives is one of the best parts of being an artist. So often, we connect in places where our stories overlap or touch one another. In that way, viewers give energy and life to paintings. Echoing the words of renowned physicist, Albert Einstein, "Creativity is contagious. Pass it on."
